Pham Nhat Vuong has appointed two sons as CEOs of VinFast and Green SM

Pham Nhat Vuong, founder of Vingroup and VinFast and one of Vietnam's most prominent entrepreneurs, has handed over the leadership of both companies to his sons. On September 12, his eldest son, Pham Nhat Quan Anh, was appointed CEO of VinFast, while his younger son, Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, assumed the role of head of Green SM on the same day.

Born in 1993, Pham Nhat Quan Anh is a graduate of Singapore Management University. He has been with Vingroup since 2015, during which time he has held various executive positions across the group's companies. Since May 2026, Quan Anh has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of VinFast.

Following his appointment as CEO of VinFast, he will continue to head VinMetal, a Vingroup company specializing in high-grade steel production. Meanwhile, Pham Nhat Vuong retains his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of VinFast.

VinFast was founded by Pham Nhat Vuong in 2017. In 2021, the company fully transitioned to electric vehicle manufacturing, phasing out internal combustion engine vehicles. In 2026, VinFast plans to deliver 300,000 vehicles to customers worldwide.

On the same day, Green SM announced the appointment of Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, Pham Nhat Vuong's second son, as CEO. He succeeds Nguyen Quoc Tuan, who will now become Chairman of the company, taking over from Pham Thu Huong, Pham Nhat Vuong's spouse.

Born in 2000, Pham Nhat Minh Hoang previously held senior management roles at VinFast, Green Future, VinSmart Future, and Green SM prior to his appointment as CEO. Additionally, he holds equity stakes in several companies within the Vingroup ecosystem, including VinSpeed, VinEnergo, VinMetal, and VinVentures, as well as firms operating in the robotics sector.

Green SM was founded by Pham Nhat Vuong in 2023 with an initial charter capital of VND 3 trillion. The company's capital now exceeds VND 43 trillion. Green SM is also preparing for an initial public offering (IPO).

Initially operating as a taxi and ride-hailing service utilizing VinFast vehicles, Green SM has since expanded its operations to include food and goods delivery, intra-city transport, and car and e-scooter rentals. The service currently operates in 34 provinces and cities across Vietnam and is present in six international markets.

The leadership changes at VinFast and Green SM come amid the expansion of Vingroup and its ecosystem companies in Vietnam and abroad. The group is also actively developing in-house executive training programs and gradually passing on management responsibilities to the younger generation.
