VinFast Reports Near Doubling of Sales in Vietnam and Prepares for Expansion in Asia

On Tuesday, January 6th, Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast reported that it delivered approximately 170,000 vehicles to the domestic market in 2025. This is almost double the amount from the previous year.

The majority of VinFast's sales still come from Vietnam. In the first nine months of 2025, the domestic market accounted for about 94% of all deliveries. The company did not disclose exact figures for overseas sales for the year, but noted an increase in international shipments in December.

The company's production figures also increased significantly. At the end of December, the VinFast plant in Haiphong produced its 200,000th vehicle in 2025. At its peak, the plant operated at maximum capacity, producing about 26,000 vehicles per month.

Against this backdrop, VinFast expects to expand sales outside of Vietnam in 2026. The company is focusing on Southeast Asian markets, primarily Indonesia, India, and the Philippines, where VinFast plans to develop sales using the same model as in Vietnam — through its own transportation services and the gradual deployment of a network of charging stations for these vehicles.

Thus, the growth in sales in the domestic market was the main result for VinFast in 2025 and the basis for further expansion in the region.
