On April 30, 2025, Vietnam celebrates the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification — a landmark date symbolizing the end of a long war and the beginning of a new era of national development.
Half a century ago, Vietnam faced colossal challenges: a shattered economy, food shortages, a near-total lack of infrastructure, and a poverty rate exceeding 70%. However, over the past 50 years, the country has undergone a journey of profound transformation.
Today, Vietnam is one of Asia's fastest-growing economies:
- Gross domestic product per capita has grown from less than US$100 in 1975 to more than US$4,000 in 2024.
- Foreign trade has exceeded US$700 billion.
- The country ranks among the top three recipients of foreign direct investment in the region.
- The poverty rate has been reduced to less than 2%, and life expectancy has increased by more than 15 years.
- Development spans all sectors: infrastructure modernization, industrial production growth, development of agriculture, science and technology, sustainable tourism, and financial markets. Vietnam is actively integrating into the global economy, being a member of key international organizations and agreements.
The country's future is also tied to high expectations. According to the government's "Vietnam 2045" strategy, the goal is to become a high-income country with a modern industrial base, a strong digital economy, and sustainable social standards.
Today, on a day of honoring past achievements and facing new challenges, Vietnam demonstrates to the world an example of resilience, determination, and dynamic growth.
VINPROP congratulates all residents of Vietnam on this momentous anniversary!
