On December 19th, Long Thanh International Airport received its first commercial flight, a Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787 carrying top government officials. The aircraft landed on Runway No. 1 at 08:20.
The event was part of a nationwide infrastructure launch day: 234 key projects were simultaneously opened or put into operation across the country. Ceremonies were held in person and online simultaneously at 79 locations across the country — in honor of the 79th anniversary of National Resistance Day.
The total investment in these projects exceeds 3.4 quadrillion dong ($129.1 billion).
