Vietnamese tech startup EON Tech Co., Ltd. has become the second company in the country to receive OpenAI Select Partner status. The company announced this on Tuesday, August 18.
EON Tech stated that the status confirms the company's ability to implement and integrate OpenAI technologies within organizations, as well as provide AI management services.
The startup, based in Ho Chi Minh City, is developing the EONSR AI Gateway platform, which allows organizations to centrally connect and manage multiple AI platforms. According to EON Tech, the system helps companies address information security, data protection, access control, and cost management issues when utilizing AI.
The partnership with OpenAI is expected to expand EON Tech's capabilities in integrating AI infrastructure in line with international standards in Vietnam.
Achieving this status comes amid the accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence in Vietnam. The country aims to develop its own AI capabilities not only through the use of off-the-shelf technologies, but also by integrating them into organizations' existing systems, data, and workflows.
This course aligns with Politburo Resolution 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. The document sets a goal for Vietnam to rank among the top three countries in Southeast Asia for artificial intelligence research and development by 2030.
OpenAI launched its Partner Network in June 2026. It features three partnership tiers: Select, Advanced, and Elite. Partners are evaluated against criteria related to technology implementation capabilities, security, and system integration.
The Select Partners category includes technology companies, system integrators, and consulting organizations engaged in the development, sale, and implementation of AI solutions, as well as working with GPT models, APIs, and AI management services.
According to EON Tech, OpenAI plans to invest up to $150 million in 2026 to develop its partner ecosystem and to train and standardize the preparation of 300,000 specialists worldwide.
Earlier in August, Vietnamese tech holding company FPT received OpenAI Select Partner status. EON Tech became the second company from Vietnam to publicly announce attaining this status.
