International Fireworks Festival DIFF 2026 Kicks Off in Da Nang

On May 30, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 kicks off in Da Nang and will run until July 11.

This year, the festival brings together 10 teams from around the world, including Vietnam, China, Italy, Finland, France, Japan, Australia, Germany, and Portugal. Vietnam is represented by two teams: the Da Nang Fireworks Team and Z121 Vina Pyrotech.

The fireworks shows will take place on Saturdays over the Han River, with a total of six performance nights scheduled. The opening night will feature teams from Da Nang and China.

First held in 2008 as the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition, the event adopted its current format and name in 2017. Today, DIFF has grown into a nearly two-month-long festival and is considered one of Vietnam’s major tourism events.

For 2026, organizers have prepared a stage with a dome structure over 40 meters wide, equipped with LED screens, laser effects, and dynamic stage systems. The fireworks are synchronized with music and a full light show.

Beyond the main performances, DIFF also features street carnivals, food festivals, concerts, and various cultural activities across the city. The opening ceremony will include performances by well-known Vietnamese artists Ho Ngoc Ha, Hoang Hai, Ha Nhi, and Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, along with around 70 dancers and more than 30 performers from Sun World Ba Na Hills.

During the festival period, Da Nang typically sees higher hotel occupancy, particularly in areas along the Han River and the coastline.
