On February 2nd, the official groundbreaking ceremony for two major urban districts took place in the north of the Vietnamese capital: "North Thang Long" in the Me Linh district and a multifunctional urban zone in the Dong Anh district. The total investment volume is approximately 160 trillion dong (about $6 billion USD).

The districts are designed as "smart cities." Their launch is directly linked to the authorities' plan to decongest central Hanoi: by 2045, it is planned to relocate more than 860,000 people from the central districts.

The implementation of these projects will provide jobs for more than 50,000 specialists in the high-tech and service sectors. The projects will also become a pilot site for the introduction of new environmental standards and automated urban management systems in Vietnam's construction sector.
