The military-industrial telecommunications group Viettel has officially topped the global ranking of the strongest brands in the communications sector. Previously, the company held the second position in the list for two consecutive years.
According to the latest global ranking by the consulting company Brand Finance, specializing in brand valuation, Viettel received 89.9 points out of 100 on the Brand Strength Index (BSI) and the highest rating of AAA+. This result is a record among all global operators over the past three years.
Experts note that brand strength is primarily an indicator of customer trust and loyalty, not just financial reports. The index is calculated based on user surveys: how much they trust the company and whether they are willing to recommend it to others. According to Brand Finance director Lorenzo Coruzzi, Viettel received very high scores precisely because of its close connection with its subscribers. The company's result surprised many market analysts, as the Vietnamese brand managed to surpass recognized global giants.
The company is now not only engaged in communications but is also building its first chip manufacturing plant in Vietnam. Its launch in test mode is scheduled for the end of 2027.
The value of the Viettel brand is currently estimated at $7.9 billion USD. The company is the largest telecommunications operator in Southeast Asia and is among the top twenty largest telecommunications brands in the world. In addition, Viettel is the only Vietnamese company included in the Global Top 500 ranking.
