Ho Chi Minh City Publishes List of Priority Projects for 2026–2030

On April 17th, the authorities of Ho Chi Minh City published a list of priority investment projects for the period of 2026–2030, opening up additional opportunities for private and foreign investors.

The list is focused on attracting capital to areas that align with the city's development strategy up to 2030. Priority is given to high-tech and innovative projects, the digital and "green" economy. Supported sectors also include agriculture, industry, trade, services, and tourism.

In total, the list includes over 200 projects. The list includes 98 projects in the field of residential construction, 41 in the field of industry and ecology, 26 in the field of trade and services, 22 in the field of transport infrastructure, 21 in the field of culture and sports, 17 in the field of healthcare, 12 in the field of education, 7 in the field of high technologies, and 6 in the field of seaports and logistics services. The authorities allow for adjustments to the list, taking into account the market situation and investor proposals.

By the end of the first quarter of 2026, the city attracted approximately $2.9 billion in foreign direct investment, which is 219% more than the previous year. The total goal for 2026 is to attract up to $11 billion.

According to Nguyen Hoang Anh, Deputy Head of the General Policy Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance, this result reflects the city's efforts to remove obstacles in the path of investment projects. To date, 738 out of 838 projects have been approved, including many projects with foreign participation, which has allowed the attraction of capital in the amount of more than $6.6 billion and supported the city's economic growth.
