On January 3rd, Phu Quoc International Airport handled 46 international flights in a single day – the highest number in the airport's history. The previous record was set in 2025 with 40 flights per day.
The main influx came from South Korea – 13 flights arrived on the island during the day. From January 1st to 2nd, Phu Quoc welcomed over 4,500 passengers from South Korea.
Kazakhstan ranked second in the number of flights with 6 flights per day. This was followed by Hong Kong (5 flights) and Thailand (4 flights).
The airport plans to handle 288 flights between January 1st and 4th, which is 27% more than the previous year. Of these, 147 flights are international, averaging about 40 international flights per day, which is 23% higher than the same period last year.
Visitor traffic has also increased in local amusement parks. In the Sunset Town area, attendance during the New Year holidays increased by 76% compared to the same period last year. Restaurants in this area were often overcrowded, especially in the evenings.
On certain days, there were difficulties with accommodation. Some foreign tourists reported a shortage of available rooms, including cases with already paid reservations.
