Authorities of Gia Lai Province in central Vietnam have approved the investment policy for the Hoai Duc solar power plant project, which will be built following a competitive investor selection process.
The project will be implemented on an area of approximately 46 hectares in Bong Son district. The plant's installed capacity will be 50 MW, with an expected annual output of approximately 86 million kWh. The total investment is estimated at over VND 789 billion (approximately $31 million).
According to the approved schedule, investor selection procedures will be completed between March and May 2026. Project preparation for construction will then begin: technical and economic assessments will be conducted, implementation parameters will be refined, the power purchase agreement will be finalized, and land plots for construction will be secured.
Construction is scheduled to commence in December 2026, with commissioning planned for March 2028. The project's operational lifespan will be 50 years.
Gia Lai Province plans to tender 67 energy projects in 2026, primarily in wind and solar power generation, as part of its 'green energy' development strategy.
