Da Nang has approved one of the largest projects in recent years – the construction of the new Southeast Hillside Urban Area, with a total investment of over 13 trillion VND (approximately $495 million).
The project will occupy nearly 2.6 million sq. m and will be implemented in the territory of Ba Na commune and Hoa Khanh district. The city authorities expect to create a modern urban environment here with residential development, commercial facilities, and social infrastructure.
877,914 sq. m have been allocated for residential development. Of these, 175,779 sq. m (20%) are intended for social housing – this is a mandatory requirement within the framework of the state policy to expand the affordable housing stock. A total of 922 houses and 14,213 apartments are planned to be built.
Construction will begin in the 4th quarter of 2027. It is planned to fully complete the project and put it into operation by the end of 2032.
Investors will be selected through an open tender in accordance with current legislation.
The new district will become part of Da Nang's expansion to the southeast and, according to the authorities' calculations, will help balance the housing market. First of all, we are talking about the affordable apartments segment, which remains one of the most deficient in Vietnam.
